Android smart TV box vs Mini PC, can they compete head-on?
Please note, that we are indeed talking about average abilities here, but there are no doubts any recent Amlogic chip can and will easily compete with devices that can cost 10 times the actual cost.
So let’s prove the point in its simplest form and show how they all stack up against each other.
Amlogic S905x4 with 4GB DDR 3 or 4 and 64GB ROM versus the equivalent Intel CPU, for example:
HUNSN Fanless Mini PC, Desktop Computer, HTPC, Nano Kodi Box, Intel Quad Core N2930, Windows 11 Pro or Linux Ubuntu, BM11, AC Wi-Fi, BT, VGA, HDMI, USB3.0, 4 x USB2.0, LAN, 4G RAM, 64G SSD.
Now this cracking little Mini-PC retails on Amazon and eBay for around £170-$200 so a multiple of 4–5 times the cost of this typical Android TV box.
Here it shows just how far these Android TV boxes have come and to prove it here are the scores from GADGET VERSUS.
Also, please bear in mind these are very low power consumption CPUs the Intel hits 8 Watts, and the Amlogic 5 Watts, and it still outperforms the Intel chip.
This contest’s actual results, where the Intel is in the first column.
Please remember the Hunsun Mini-PC can do every task any new computer can do, albeit some functions are slower, but then again we are talking about the Android Smart TV Box being at a fraction of the cost and allowing for great Android Gaming.
